Candler Hospital is the primary hospital Dr. Biggerstaff uses. It is part of St. Joseph's/Candler Health System
and is the region's only faith based, not-for-profit health system. The institution is comprised of St. Joseph's Hospital and Candler Hospital, two of the oldest continuously operating hospitals in the United States. Through these two anchor hospitals, as well as it various health services, St. Joseph's/Candler is the largest and most experienced health care provider in the region, as well as the only Magnet-designated facility for nursing excellence in South Georgia and the South Carolina Low Country.

The operating rooms Dr. Biggerstaff uses are the highest technology suites available. These state-of-the-art integrated operating rooms have the latest digital technology. The complex instrumentation required for advanced laparoscopic surgery can be controlled from one central monitor. The technology allows video and voice communication between Dr. Biggerstaff and other physicians integral to the patient's care including radiologists and pathologists.
